At Mend Osteopathy we believe a holistic wellness practice is a fundamental key to finding health within. Come experience Osteopathy in London Ontario with Mend.
Learn MoreOsteopathy is a structural science of our body’s ability to move and the anatomical relationships within.
Our biomechanical assessment of movement is a functional diagnosis of how the body has adapted and compensated for injuries and strain over time. Corrective adjustment creates an environment where the body can heal itself. Osteopathic treatment unwinds tensional strain, removes obstruction of fluid flow and replenishes tissue health. There is a strong emphasis on preventative health where we can create balance, restore function and establish wellness within.
Osteopathic treatment is a hands-on manual therapy treatment composed of tissue manipulations and joint adjustments. Technical approaches are subtle yet specific and always within the tolerance of the individual receiving them.
We use various techniques including myofascial release, joint adjustment, visceral manipulations and cranial sacral therapy. Osteopaths assess and treat inclusively; working with the body as a whole rather than its individual parts. Compensation patterns are addressed, postural strains are softened and alignment is restored with an appropriate application of the anatomy examined. Treatments balance the nervous system by reducing stimulation for full-body wellness.
In order for babies to grow and develop optimally their tissues need to be free from restriction. Their tissues require a healthy blood supply and optimal nerve firing to balance the nervous system. The soft tissue technical approach to infant manual therapy is gentle, subtle and always within the comfort of your child’s tolerances.
Even from infancy, the body has the ability to regulate and heal itself if it is free from obstruction. Often physical restriction goes unnoticed by conventional medical models and often leads to symptoms being compensated for and prolongs the healing process.
Common reasons to bring your infant in for osteopathic care include:
